Yinglong Xia is an applied research scientist at Facebook AI (applied machine learning), working on graph-based platform and application technologies. He was a chief architect at Futurewei Technologies (a.k.a. Huawei Research America), leading a global team working on AI platform products, based on in-house Graph Engine (GES, https://www.huaweicloud.com/en-us/product/ges.html), which covers graph data management, graph analytics, and graph-based machine/deep learning. He also participates in technical planning. Prior to that, he was a technical leader and research staff member at IBM Watson Research Center, exploring graph database and reasoning framework, creating IBM System G (http://systemg.mybluemix.net/) platform from scratch to support a behavioral anomaly detection project (ADAMS), and a social data monitoring project (SMISC), etc.

He has multi-disciplinary expertise, ranging from machine learning to big data, and high performance computing (HPC), due to his diverse education background. He has solid experience in both industrial research and product development, already published 60+ technical papers (https://dblp.org/pers/hd/x/Xia:Yinglong) and filed 30+ patents (https://patents.justia.com/inventor/yinglong-xia). He was a CCC/CRA Computing Innovation Fellow (CIFellow) and a board member of the Linked Data Benchmark Council (LDBC)

Yinglong is active in professional communities, serving as a technical advisory committee (TAC) member in Linux Foundation, a board member of LDBC, and an associate editor of IEEE trans. Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE), and IEEE trans. Big Data (TBD); he was a general co-chair of IEEE HiPC’19, vice co-chair of IEEE BigData’19, SPC of IJCAI'20, TPC member of KDD’20, VLDB’20, ICDE’20, AAAI'20, etc.

Big data management, scalable graphical analytics, high performance computing, multi/manycore algorithms, and statistical machine learning.
